Weekly Digest ๐Ÿง  #2

๐Ÿ‘‹ Hello Friends

If this email landed up in your Promotions or Junk tab, please make sure to move it into your Primary tab so that you don’t miss any future updates. ๐Ÿ“ฉ

Let’s talk about intentionality – the missing piece to more freedom and fulfilment in life.

But what do I mean by intentionality?

Being deliberate in making decisions, especially ones that may not make you more successful or productive.

What does this look like?

Watching TV for the entire day is totally fine – if you planned to do it. So is scrolling away on social media. Or splurging hundreds of dollars on that jacket you’ve always wanted.

All these decisions will leave you in a better state internally, as long you back them up with intention.

This is opposed to deciding unconsciously and letting your emotions rule over you, which is a highway to a life full of guilt, disappointment and broken dreams.

Start being more intentional about your choices, and over time, you’ll see a subtle change.

You’re enjoying life but without the guilt that used to come with it.

You trust yourself more than before.

Life is no longer happening to you. You’re happening to life.

And that’s a powerful position to live from.

Have a great weekend!

๐Ÿงพ Article – An excellent post by The Deep Dish on how to spend money applying the infamous Barbell Strategy by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. I have often struggled with spending money. Given my frugal Indian background, I’ve been given way too much advice on saving money, but never on spending it. This post will help you develop the right mental models when it comes to the latter.

๐ŸŽฅ Video – Check out Actualized.org’s video on Satisfaction Meditation if you’re looking to start or simplify your meditation practice. I’ve been practising it over the last week, and my happiness levels have never been more consistent.

๐ŸŽค Podcast – Listened to an episode of the Indie Hackers podcast with Laura Roeder. A tonne of practical advice for creative folk.
