Over the past few weeks, Iβve become very intentional about capturing the most profound insights I have while consuming books, articles, podcasts, videos and everything else into a well-organized repository of notes on Notion which I call my Second Brain, inspired by Ali Abdaalβs video on it.
Although I was felt like I was wasting my time at the start, my opinion has changed now looking at the volume of insights I have collected, ready to reflect upon and build upon through my writing.
The truth is that our brains are not the best stores of information, but the information age doesnβt care about that. It will bombard you with information left, right and centre. Some of it is useful, but the majority of it is complete trash.
Building a system to capture the best ideas and knowledge will directly transfer into how much you retain and later apply β what you were trying to do in the first place. Well worth the small investment in my opinion.
If youβd like to do the same I recommend you check out this video. Youβll become a documentation ninja in no time.
Have a great weekend!

Article β I enjoyed this piece by Taimur Abdaal on the value of learning a new skill first by exploration, then by theory. I am doing this with writing and itβs helping me spend more time improving at the craft rather than theorising about it.
Video β Check out Sandeep Maheshwariβs video on time with a psychologist. Itβs not your typical video on time management, but more so an inquiry into the existential nature of time. Does time exist on its own or only in relation to change in the universe?
Podcast β This episode of the Brains podcast with Sam Parr had several insightful ideas on becoming a creator online. Samβs method of learning writing by repeated imitation followed by improvisation was a real eye-opener for me.
